Cowboys Are My Weakness Cowboys Are My Weakness is a collection of short stories written so assuredly that the reader will cheer for the heroine that takes the center of each gutsy story. Pam Houston is clever as she tells stories of courageous, adventurous women surviving the trials and tribulations of modern-day romance. Houston writes of adventure and intrigue, which only male authors have been known to tell in the past.

The often times humbled leading characters are thoughtful through their own experiences of life, love, personal accomplishments and loss. Houston's stories and characters are so brave, and so philosophically centered the reader is always rooting for the heroine as each story is oozing with personal triumphs.

Whether it is a river rafting trip down the Colorado, a hunt through Alaska, a slow dance with a cowboy, or being alone in an igloo with beloved dogs, these women are alive and kicking with so much gusto it is exhilarating and refreshing.

The stories remind us of our own experiences with dating, loving and losing what we loved, or at least what we thought we loved. Houston is able to unfold these messages with humor and a sense of knowing. The reader will inevitably shake their head "yes", with a smile, because they can only relate.

With wit and clarity, each story rises to meet the reader’s internal daredevil, and heart all at once. Cowboys Are My Weakness is an entertaining quick read that will leave you reeling for more and can be picked up and re-experienced several times, each time, a different tale unfolds.
